Meet Dr. Wong

Dr. Randy Wong was born and raised in Vancouver, BC, Canada. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Cell Biology & Genetics at the University of British Columbia, where he also completed a thesis on retinal pigment epithelium at the Vancouver Eyecare Center under the supervision of Dr. Joanne Matsubara.

He then went on to receive his Doctorate of Optometry at the University of California-Berkeley where he graduated with honors in 2005. He gained a breadth of experience in his internships rotating through the ocular disease, contact lens, binocular vision, pediatrics, and low vision clinics at school. Dr. Wong completed his externships at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Sacramento, CA and at the American Lake Veteran Affairs Hospital in Tacoma, WA. Before practicing at Visionaire Eyecare, he gained clinical experience working together with Dr. Edward Lawrence Jones.

Dr. Wong enjoys practicing full scope medical eyecare with interests in dry eye and glaucoma treatment. He enjoys fitting all types of contact lenses with a focus on myopia (nearsightedness) control using specialty CRT (Corneal Refractive Therapy) contact lenses and special eye drops. He is a current member of the Professional Eyecare Associates of America. Dr. Wong would love to meet each of you personally and he welcomes the opportunity to care for your eyes. His passion is to educate and help you maximize your vision so that you can enjoy the most out of life with your precious sense of sight.

Dr. Wong and his family live in the Seattle-Northgate community. He enjoys playing badminton, volleyball, and classic video games when he is not having fun being silly with his children. He is a passionate Vancouver Canucks hockey fan and he is patiently waiting for them to finally hoist the Stanley Cup for the very first time!

Dr. Wong is semi-fluent in Cantonese.
